35th Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry Civil War

Camp of the 35th New York Infantry

"After we are all gone, and this great land stands high above the nations of the earth in all that makes a people wise and truly great, then will come the time when the history of our service will glow in living light in the heart of every lover of his country." (page 49) Shaw, Albert D., A Full Report of the First Re-Union and Banquet of the Thirty-Fifth N.Y. Vols. Watertown N.Y.: Times Printing and Publishing House, 1888

The Thirty Fifth NY Infantry was made up of men from Jefferson and Madison County New York. They participated in some major battles in the Civil War including Second Manassas, South Mountain, Antietam, and Fredericksburg. I have a book on the reunion of the regiment. It has the muster roll that shows all of the soldiers that were in the regiment. I would be happy to search the book and share what I find if there are any inquiries about a specific soldier. I also plan to add findings and links about the regiment as my time allows. Contact me for more info at jamesbarnett1@hotmail.com.
